Jared C. Monti Posthumously Awarded Medal of Honor

In a White House ceremony on September 17, 2009, President Barack Obama posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for combat action in Afghanistan to the parents of Sergeant First Class Jared C. Monti. The award honors heroism of Sergeant First Class Monti for his valiant actions to protect his fellow soldiers on June 21, 2006.
