Asian American Recipients

"The Last Clip"
PAINTING

View the full sized digital painting by DreamWorks artist Matt Hall specially commissioned for the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. Matt will do a new painting each month telling a little bit of the stories of MOH recipients. This is a depiction of one of the soldiers, Kazuo Otani, battling in the foothills of Italy during World War II. One of his men became wounded on open ground so he crawled out alone and dragged the man back to a shallow ditch and treated him before becoming mortally wounded himself. Many other Asian-American recipients also served in Italy and risked their lives in aiding fallen comrades back to safety.
