Second Lieutenant Davila led a charge
against heavy machinegunners
Rudolph Davila showed relentless leadership
during his actions near Artena, Italy in World War II. He led a charge that
helped relieve a rifle company of heavy enemy machinegun fire. At one point,
despite being wounded in the leg, he mounted a turret of a burnt out tank and
fired upon an enemy force.
