Alexander "Sandy" Bonnyman Jr. Took Out
a Large Japanese Bunker
First Lieutenant Alexander "Sandy" Bonnyman Jr. initially led a
charge from a long pier across a beach and then towards the destruction of
several Japanese defensive batteries. Bonnyman was not done as he later
volunteered to place demolition charges on a large Japanese emplacement
holding over 200 enemy troops. He crawled 40 yards to the emplacement...
