Sgt. Lopez Fought Off Entire
Horde with Heavy Machinegun

July 10, 2006-- Sgt. Jose Lopez was caught in a battle in Belgium when he noticed US Army Company K's left flank was in danger. On his own initiative he carried his heavy machinegun all the way from the right to left flank. The gun was setup in a shallow hole that only protected Lopez from his waist down. He proceeded to kill at least 100 German soldiers and successfully preserved the left flank of Company K.
