Took Command and Destroyed Deadly
Japanese Gun Installation on Iwo Jima
Private Sigler voluntarily took command of his rifle squad when his leader was
killed and led a charge against an enemy Japanese gun installation. This
installation had held off the Americans for several days but Sigler reached
the position in advance of others and took out the entire crew manning the
emplacement...
