Captain and Surgeon Ben Salomon defended his medical aid station both in hand-to-hand combat and later with a machine gun. His efforts allowed the wounded to be safely evacuated from the station and when his body was found, 98 dead enemy soldiers were also discovered piled around the front of the machine gun emplacement. |
