What Kinds of Questions Do We Ask You As Part of CDP’s Teacher Survey?

You are probably wondering what kind of questions we will be asking you as part of our Teacher Survey. Don’t worry – we don’t ask for any sensitive information. 

Our questions are designed to understand your age demographic, the length of time you have been teaching, your experience teaching character in the classroom, the support and resources you currently have and need, and the most significant obstacles you face.

The survey is a mix of multiple-choice questions and open-ended questions that ask you to share some of your real-life experiences providing character education. 

As a result, you will also reflect on how much time you actually can spend teaching character. At most, it takes 10 minutes to complete this survey. 

Your answers will help us create more impactful and inspirational resources for you to use in your classroom, as well as prompt some reflection on how much time and resources you actually have available to instill crucial character in your students.

Why Take the CDP Teacher Survey?

Our Teacher Survey is your opportunity to be part of a national conversation about what it’s like to teach character in today’s classrooms. Whether you’ve used CDP materials before or you’re entirely new to the program, your voice can help us understand:

• How much support do teachers currently receive to teach character, and what kind of support do they miss?
• What character education resources are available, and what resources are missing?
• The real-life challenges and successes of bringing values like courage, sacrifice, patriotism, citizenship, commitment, and integrity into your curriculum.
• Where the most significant needs are across grade levels, schools, and communities.
• What kind of character development material and resources would you and your students benefit the most from? 

Your answers to these questions will provide us with insights into the gaps or needs you have that are currently not being addressed, so that we can offer free, ready-made resources to address them for teachers like you across the country. 

When you complete the survey, you’ll also have the opportunity to share what you’re most proud of in your classroom, allowing us to celebrate and amplify the impact that teachers like you make every day.

Just as importantly, after you complete the short survey, you will receive information about the Character Development Program so that you can use these free lesson plans in your classroom to forge the heroes and leaders of tomorrow, and even free, printable, and customizable classroom awards to recognize students for character growth!
