6 U.S. Servicemen Receive the Medal of Honor in 1945

At the White House on December 18, 1945, President Harry S. Truman presented six World War II U.S. servicemen with the Medal of Honor, the United States' highest medal for valor in combat. The six men were: Vito R. Bertoldo (Army), Francis X. Burke (Army), Michael Colalillo (Army), Robert H. Dunlap (Marine Corps), Richard M. McCool, Jr. (Navy), and Vernon McGarity (Army). No sound.
