Harold Fritz Webinar Interview: Celebrating Medal of Honor Day
Webinar Date: March 23, 2021
Join us for an interview with Medal of Honor Recipient Harold Fritz. During the conversation, we will discuss the Medal of Honor, the values it represents, and how the Recipients commemorate Medal of Honor Day.
It was during his deployment to Vietnam, on a mission near An Loc in Binh Long Province, that then-First Lieutenant Fritz was leading his seven-vehicle armored column along Highway 13 to meet and escort a truck convoy when the column suddenly came under intense crossfire from a reinforced enemy company deployed in ambush positions. In the following firefight, a seriously wounded Fritz continued to expose himself to enemy fire as he moved from vehicle to vehicle to assist the wounded and improve defenses. When help arrived, Fritz refused medical attention until all of his wounded men were treated and evacuated. Because of his courage and selfless service that day, Harold Fritz was awarded the Medal of Honor.
An ideal opportunity for Middle and High School students to hear directly from a Medal of Honor Recipient, this webinar will include pre-submitted and live audience questions in an interview moderated by Congressional Medal of Honor Society Executive Director of Education, Cathy Ehlers Metcalf.
