This lesson will have you teaching students to honor others though activities such as analyzing Citizen Honors nominations, determining who deserves the recognition, and reflecting on ways they can contribute to their own communities. Intended for grades 3-6, this lesson asks students to work collaboratively to analyze Citizen Honors nominations, debate who should be awarded, and defend their selection with reasoning and evidence. Other elements include a combination of small group tasks, whole group activities, and a post-lesson assessment to test your students' knowledge.
