Museum Re-Opened After Extensive Renovations

Located on the hangar deck of the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point, the museum uses interactive exhibits to tell the story of the Medal of Honor and the recipients who wear it. The specific stories of 15 recipients from various wars are highlighted as inspirational examples, and the stories of the more than 3,500 recipients can be explored in a computerized database.

Permanent exhibits of memorabilia and artifacts related to Medal of Honor recipients provide a tangible link to the heroes. Visitors also discover the heroes’ impact after their Medal of Honor actions – what they went on to do and how they are remembered.
