This Veterans Day, please join the Congressional Medal of Honor Society in thanking our nation’s veterans for their service—whether they are serving now or retired long ago.
Supporting veterans is a priority all year long for Medal of Honor Recipients. Whether through their own efforts and foundations or through the Congressional Medal of Honor Society’s Valor Outreach Program, there are many ways that Recipients seek to provide support to those who serve and to increase the visibility of organizations that share the mission to help veterans.
The Society’s Valor Outreach Program connects Recipients to veterans through organizations dedicated to the resiliency and wellness challenges of the veteran and military communities. Recipients use their personal experiences to engage veterans and active-duty service members to provide emotional support and advocate for veterans’ needs.
Past Valor Outreach Program events have ranged from seminars and forums to professional development sessions or leadership workshops in which Recipients participate as speakers, team leaders, or even to provide camaraderie and inspiration.
Apart from their participation in the Valor Outreach Program, Recipients also share their time, experiences, and perspectives with veterans and veterans-focused organizations providing critical resources to those who have served.
In honor of this important work, we are pleased to highlight some of the many organizations that Medal of Honor Recipients have worked with through the Valor Outreach Program or through their own efforts.
