CDP Webinars: How You Can Participate
Now that many of us are working and learning from home, finding creative ways to engage your students can be a challenge. To help teachers with lesson plans for social-emotional learning, the Character Development Program not only provides a digital curriculum but also hosts monthly webinars with Medal of Honor Recipients.
These webinars allow teachers and students to ask Recipients questions about the values of the Medal of Honor and their experience in the U.S. Armed Forces. This program helps students gain insight into U.S. history in action and learn how to live a life of character in their community.
How Can I Participate?
We announce all of our webinars on our social media platforms as well as in our monthly newsletters. Additionally, each webinar is featured on our News and Events page, and includes a link for you to register for the webinar. You can submit any questions your students have for the Recipient when you register for the event, or you can submit questions during the webinar as well.
These webinars are all recorded and posted on our YouTube channel for you to watch if you have to miss the event. You can view the full playlist of previous webinars here.
How Can I Further Support the Program?
You can support this program and help us continue to share these free events with teachers and students around the country by spreading the word. You can invite other teachers in your school or network to register for our monthly webinars or download one of our lesson plans.
We also welcome feedback and ideas for new lessons, and you can support us further by giving to Society. As a supporter of our program, you can make a difference in school culture and students’ futures.
Are There Any Upcoming Events?
We always have events on the horizon. Our next Character Development Program webinar will be on Jan. 28, 2021, at 1 p.m. EST with Recipient Kyle J. White. You can register for the event here.
We are excited to continue this webinar program in 2021 to help teachers connect with their students on a personal level. We look forward to the ways that the CDP will allow you to take your students’ lessons beyond their books into their communities.
