Fort Chadbourne, Texas, will dedicate a cenotaph to Peter P. Roth, a Medal of Honor Recipient for the Indian Campaigns. Private Roth died in 1907 his home country of Germany and his gravesite is lost to the ages.

The cenotaph was funded by the Congressional Medal of Honor Society’s Gravemarker Program. This program allows researchers and next-of-kin to apply for a gravemarker or headstone for a Medal of Honor Recipient when the U.S. Veterans Administration or local funds cannot provide this distinction. The Society is pleased to be able to support efforts to memorialize Private Roth for future generations.
